Climate change is accelerating the microbial release of greenhouse gasses (GHG) from soil organic matter and soil amendments, including from land-applied fertilizers, solid wastes, pesticides, sewage sludge and wastewater effluents, all of which generate additional GHGs, many of which remain unidentified.
